Residents across Essex are being invited to discover everything the county has to offer as a new campaign launches this July.
From our coastline and countryside to historic villages, towns and cities, Essex is bursting with opportunities to get involved, from family days out and outdoor adventures to cultural events, heritage experiences and vibrant community celebrations.
The new campaign – Hello Essex – aims to inspire residents to explore, connect and make the most of the place they call home.
To mark the start of the campaign, a launch photocall took place at Danbury Country Park on Tuesday 30 June. Bringing together councillors and Essex County Council services for a celebration of what the county has to offer.
At the heart of the photocall is a bold, oversized “Hello Essex” invitation. This is a visual symbol of the campaign’s central message: encouraging people to discover what is on their doorstep and support the local attractions, venues and Essex businesses that make the county distinctive.
The campaign brings together activity from across tourism, heritage, culture and community under one clear and recognisable story. It will support people to see, do and feel more across the county throughout July.
At the heart of the Hello Essex campaign is the principle of One County, One Community, bringing residents together through shared experiences, local pride and a stronger sense of belonging, while supporting the places and businesses that help communities thrive.
Councillor Peter Harris, Essex County Council Leader, said:
“Hello Essex is about celebrating the places, people, experiences and local businesses that make our county and community such a brilliant place to live, work and visit.
“This summer, we want to encourage residents and visitors to look again at what is around them, discover new events, places and activities, and actively support the local attractions, businesses, venues and high streets that bring our communities to life.
“From outdoor adventures and family activities to cultural events and community celebrations, there is so much to enjoy across Essex this July – and we want everyone to feel part of it.”
The Danbury photocall provides a strong visual moment for media. The large-format “Hello Essex” invitation creates a focal point for photography, with Councillor Peter Harris, Leader of Essex County Council and Councillor Russell Quirk, Deputy Leader of Essex County Council featured.
Throughout July, Hello Essex will showcase a wide range of activity taking place across Essex’s coast, countryside, villages, towns and cities.
This includes: self-guided nature experiences such as the Butterfly Trail at Belhus Woods Country Park outdoor adventures at Essex Outdoors including sailing creative and heritage events such as workshops at Cressing Temple Barns and talks at the Essex Record Office.
Community moments will also play a key role, with events such as the Great Basildon Community Feast bringing people together through food, music and culture.
