80 organisations and £35,000 bonus bode well for 2026 Fun Walk

The organisers of the annual Fun Walk are delighted to report that around 80 local charities and community groups have so far registered to participate in this September’s Walk, with more expected to join.

The Fun Walk Trust helps charities, local schools and churches, grass roots sports teams and other community groups raise funds for their projects and initiatives through an annual sponsored walk in September of each year. It tops up the money raised in sponsorship on a pro rata basis with Bonus Pot money kindly donated by local businesses and individuals.

John Baron, Chair of the Fun Walk Trustees, said:
“We are thrilled by the enthusiastic response from the community. This year’s event is its 25th and it could break last year’s record when £121,000 was raised. With 80 organisations already signed up, and £35,000 so far in the Bonus Pot, the Fun Walk continues to be a valued opportunity for local organisations to raise much-needed funds for their causes.”

“We would like to thank the local business and people who have so far generously supported this year’s Bonus Pot. These include Brown & Carroll (London), Sanctuary Housing Association, One Footstep, Tunnelcraft Ltd, Butyl Products Group, c2c Railway Ltd, Equi Ltd, Mr and Mrs Barrie Stone, and other individuals including the trustees. This bonus acts as a real incentive for participants to raise money for their good causes.”
