Three charities across Essex have benefited from charitable donations from the Haslers Foundation – the in-house charity of one of Loughton’s leading accountancy firms.

Set up by Haslers Chartered Accountants more than a decade ago, the Foundation has helped to raise more than £180,000 for organisations across the South East.

As part of its ongoing work in local communities, the Foundation has donated £1,250 to Epping Food Bank, which helped contribute to the restocking of food parcels for more than 80 families.

The Epping Food Bank is part of a nationwide network of food banks, supported by The Trussell Trust, which is working to combat poverty and hunger.

A spokesperson for the food bank said: “A huge thank you to Haslers for their kind financial support in helping us to provide food for over 80 local families in Epping Forest District over the Easter holidays.

“We really appreciate the support of local businesses to help us help local people who are going through a difficult time.”

The Police Community Clubs of Great Britain is another good cause to recently benefit from the Foundations donations.

It received £700 to support children with their award-winning projects, in particular, its outreach work with Thomas Willingale and Limes Farm Junior School.

Finally, Accuro and their Loughton Youth Group for children with disabilities have benefited from a £700 donation from Haslers, which will be used to purchase new gaming equipment and fund an end of term celebration.

The Loughton Youth Group meets weekly and runs a range of fun leisure activities for young people aged 11-19.

It strives to provide a fun, child-centred environment where each child and young person’s needs are met.

Sue Fishpool, Fundraising Manager at Accuro, said: “Thank you so much Haslers Foundation for your donation. My colleagues at Loughton Youth Group and the Holiday scheme will be delighted. This equipment will significantly improve the learning and development of our young people and the opportunity to put this learning into practice at the end of term is wonderful”.
The entire team at Haslers Chartered Accountants remains very proud of the Foundation’s work, not least its chairman, Jon O’Shea. He said: “Epping Food Bank, The Police Community Clubs of Great Britain and Loughton Youth Group all provide essential services to our local communities and so we are delighted that the foundation can support them.

“I hope the money we have raised and donated will help these groups continue to support local people during these challenging times.”
