As lockdown looms and eating out becomes a distant memory yet again, itsu – the Asian-inspired food brand – is launching its second virtual cooking competition.

Launching this Wednesday 4th November on their Instagram channel @itsuofficial, four contestants will battle it out to be crowned the first ever itsu Fake Off [the professionals] champion

Every Wednesday throughout November, four high profile influencers; @niknaidoo, @thelongmum, @truffleandtoast and @gnochgnoch will go head to head to create a showstopping dish using a different key ingredients from the itsu supermarket range, with the public voting weekly for their star faker.

The key is to showcase simple, quick recipes to inspire us all in the kitchen at home throughout lockdown.

As with Bake Off, the contestants will focus on a different dish each week, using itsu products: week 1 itsu brilliant’broth, week 2 itsu rice’noodles, week 3 itsu teriyaki chick’n vegan gyoza and week 4 itsu miso’easy. With the competition taking place from their kitchens, each foodie’s masterpiece will then be shared on itsu’s Instagram every Wednesday and put to a public vote.

With Government restrictions forcing us back into the kitchen, we hope that the contestants will inspire the public with easy, delicious, Asian-inspired dishes that will bring the much missed restaurant-experience into the comfort of their own homes.
