Land of the Fanns seeks new Chair

The Land of the Fanns Landscape Partnership Scheme is looking for a new Chairperson to lead its board in the final phase of the project. The Scheme want to appoint a Chair who is passionate about the landscapes across the Land of the Fanns and committed to the heritage of this fascinating area.

The five-year Land of the Fanns is a unique £2.4 million Landscape Partnership Scheme, awarded £1.36 million by the National Lottery Heritage Fund in 2016. It brings together nine partner organisations to work towards a shared goal of enabling local people to discover, restore and enjoy what’s special about the local landscape and its history. It has a dedicated commitment to celebrate the heritage and natural environment across an area covering Brentwood, Thurrock, parts of South West Essex and the London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham and Havering.

The Scheme is at an exciting stage as it enters its final 18 months of delivery and looks towards its legacy. The new Chair will have the skills and experience to lead the Land of the Fanns Landscape Partnership Scheme Board and build on the success so far, oversee the continuously developing programme to its completion and to help mould the lasting legacy of the Scheme.

The position of Chair is a voluntary role. The project team is located at Thames Chase Forest Centre, Upminster, and works across East London and South West Essex.
