It’s National Picnic Week from the 15th-24th of June, which aims to promote areas of natural beauty to get the UK into the great outdoors this summer, enjoying some great food and great company.

The Shortlist For The UK’s Best Picnic Spot Has Been Announced, and local parks from the East of England are in line for the nod.

East Anglia parks who have made the shortlist include: Wimpole Estate, Brancaster Beach, Wandlebury Country Park, Sheringham Park, Holywells Park.

National Picnic Week has chosen these locations due to their outstanding natural beauty and historical significance. These locations offer a broad range of settings, something for everyone.

If you’re thinking of going on a picnic anytime soon, remember to pack the essentials like ice cubes and sunblock. You may also want to take a couple of sustainable mosquito traps with you if you’re going on a particularly muggy day, or you’ll be going home covered in angry red bites.

There are stunning places to picnic all across the UK, and it’s one of National Picnic Week’s aims to promote these areas, and get people out enjoying the summer with friends and family. And now you can nominate your favourite picnic spots for consideration in next year’s competition. For more information, visit www.nationalpicnicweek.co.uk
