Photos by Big Wave PR’s Creative Director and photographer, Carl Allen, are being featured in a new documentary on legendary indie group, The Go-Betweens. The Go-Betweens formed in the late 1970s and Carl has been a superfan since the late-1980s; he has had the opportunity to photograph the band in the UK and on tour throughout Europe.

The documentary, ‘Right Here’ used over 30 of Carl’s photographs; the film was premiered at the Sydney Film Festival in 2017 and was voted ‘Documentary of The Year’ by the Australian Screen Produce Association. The film received a UK cinema release in 2018 and is now available on DVD.

Carl is very proud that photographs of his favourite band, were featured in the documentary. He says: “I was very surprised and honoured when the production company got in touch to ask access to my photo collection on the Go-betweens. I’m very proud that my photographs are now part of the band’s history.”

He continued: “My first shots of the Go-Betweens were taken at gigs on a film camera, and it was a real pleasure to go through these images, scan for the producers, and reminisce about the band’s early days.”

Carl’s photographs will also feature in a new boxset of the band, which is due out in the New Year.
