Essex-Based Charity the Dream Factory, is dedicated to granting dreams to children and young adults between the age of 3 to 25 years, who suffer from life-threatening, life-limiting conditions, or have severe disabilities, or are sadly having end of life care. Thanks to your support, the charity has brought joy, hope, and unforgettable experiences and dreams to over 775 children and their families. Fundraising is so important to The Dream Factory, and the team work tirelessly to raise funds to be able to grant more dreams.
Last week, the charity organised a very successful Mamma Mia Ladies Lunch, held at the Linguini Restaurant, which is at Hainault Golf Club in Hainault, Essex. The event was a sellout, with 70 fabulous ladies joining enjoying a sparkling fun afternoon in support of The Dream Factory. From the moment the doors opened, the atmosphere was electric, with everyone dressed in Abba-inspired outfits, fully embracing the theme. A highlight of the afternoon was the incredible live performance by Joe Alexander, who delivered a spectacular Abba tribute that had everyone singing along.
Avril Mills BEM, Honorary Freeman of The Borough of Redbridge, Founder & Trustee of The Dream Factory Children’s Charity said,
“We were honoured to welcome to our Mamma Mia Ladies Lunch three of our celebrity patrons: Anne Wafula Strike MBE, Christine Ohuruogu MBE, and Vicki Michelle MBE, who shared heartfelt speeches about why they support The Dream Factory and the impact it has on children’s lives. We had our amazing raffle which was another big draw, and we are delighted to announce that, thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised over £5,700. We want to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who attended, donated, and supported us. Your ongoing support Is what keeps The Dream Factory’s magic alive.”
The main sponsor of the event was the team at Bancroft Ltd, based in London and without their support events like this would not be possible.
Avril added:
“Support from partners like Bancroft is vital in helping The Dream Factory continue granting dreams to children and young adults. Thank you for helping us create such a memorable day while supporting our work. Every dream The Dream Factory grants is a chance to create lasting memories for a child and their family, a moment to escape illness and embrace joy. These dreams are often a lifeline for families, bringing light during their darkest times. with life limiting, severe disabilities and those near to the end of their short lives.”
