NIGEL Farage has criticised a Home Office minister who said at least one of two Afghan teenagers found guilty of rape will be deported.
Speaking on GB News he said: “Barely a day goes by when we don’t hear about a heinous crime of some kind committed by people who have illegally come into this country.
“Two young men [Israr Niazal and Jan Jahanzeb] arrived here on a boat. They were from Afghanistan, and they were convicted in court yesterday of the rape of a 15-year-old. One of them has got a sentence of 10 years and eight months, and the other nine years and 10 months, which effectively means that both of them will be out after six and a half years.
“But here was Home Office Minister Mike Tapp yesterday telling us that actually one, at least one of them, would be deported…
“Well, I’ve discussed that consecutive governments allow people like this to illegally come and live in our country, because some countries are very, very high risk. The numbers tell us that.

“Males from Afghanistan are 22 times more likely to be convicted of rape. And frankly, I’ve been saying for years that if you allow into the country people who come from cultures where women aren’t even second class citizens, don’t be surprised at the result.
“Extraordinarily, that became the defence. In this case, the barrister defending said, look, you’ve got to understand there’s a cultural difference. They don’t come from a place where women can walk around freely on the streets.
“Well, frankly, when my attack line becomes their defence, something is very, very wrong.
“But the thing that really annoys me is Mike Tapp says at least one of these guys will be deported as soon as they’ve said their sentence. But it’s just not true, because we don’t deport anyone to Afghanistan because it’s a dangerous country and they’re protected by the ECHR.”
