King Charles should not apologise to Kenya on behalf of the nation, says Royal Biographer

Royal biographer Angela Levin has said King Charles should not be apologising to Kenya on behalf of the nation.

Speaking to GB News she said: “I don’t think he should be apologising on our behalf, not at all. They’ve been independent for 60 years and I think you don’t then expect people to keep giving you money.

“We made an arrangement, it was terrible, the Mau Mau was difficult. They were bad and the English were bad, but actually, once they’d made a decision, and got just under £20 million, then you sort of leave it.

“You can go on and on and on; it reminds me of Prince Harry keeping on asking his father for money. You’ve got to stand on your own two feet.

” The royal family loves going there, and the President loves them coming.

“It’s been a very important place because Elizabeth became Queen there, Prince William asked Catherine to marry him there – they love it so why the nastiness?

“There are a lot of people at the moment who just see half of an argument and they don’t look at the rest. But if you do look at it carefully, the UK were very good at stopping slavery, they did their very best to stop it.

“I think if one country wants it, then the rest of the countries in the Commonwealth will ask for it as well and it will never be enough money.”
