Things are getting spooky this Halloween at luxury Essex property Down Hall Hotel, Spa & Estate, as the hotel gets ready to celebrate with thrill-seeking experiences including open-air film screenings and an evening of live music on the lawn, from Friday 27th – Sunday 29th October…if you dare!
OPEN AIR CINEMA SCREENINGS
Set within the hotel’s 110-acre garden beneath the eerie night sky, the hotel’s open-air cinema in partnership with Enchanted Cinema returns for a spooktacular weekend of Halloween-themed adult and family-friendly films, including; Hocus Pocus (28th October), Scream (28th October) and the Addams Family (29th October), guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat!
With tickets priced at just £13.80 per person, sit back in plush seats, get cosy with warming blankets and hot water bottles and ensure you come hungry as there’ll be lots of snacks to enjoy during the screenings. From a dedicated pizza menu, curated by Down Hall’s Executive Chef Robert Pearce, to plenty of cocktails and bubbles from the hotel’s outdoor Horsebox Bar to keep you well-watered throughout. There’s also the pizza, popcorn and Prosecco package (£15pp) – the perfect combo to enjoy before or whilst watching a film.
Children are encouraged to get into the Halloween spirit and dress up in their favourite costume, with adults welcome to join in too!

A-LIVE FROM THE LAWN – LIVE MUSIC NIGHT, 27TH OCTOBER
And if that’s not enough, enjoy an evening of live music on Friday 27th October for a spine-tingling DJ set; A-Live From The Lawn on the hotel’s expansive terrace. Party with ghosts and ghouls, whilst feasting on devilishly delicious cocktails and fangtastic food offerings. Music from 7pm-9:30pm. Prices for the cinema screenings:
General Admission: £13.80 per person.
Prosecco and Popcorn Package: £25 per person, which includes a movie screening, 200ml bottle of prosecco, pizza and bag of popcorn.
Pop and Popcorn Package: £15 per child, which includes a movie screening, small pizza, soft drink and a bag of popcorn.
Overnight stay in a Patio Room: £210 per couple, which includes a private patio screening, bed and breakfast on Saturday and £180 per couple, which includes private patio screening, bed and breakfast on Sunday. Children 2-12yrs will be charged an extra £20 each, payable directly to the hotel on check out.
