Entrants must be from the UK and show a clear video of themselves showing off sport or ball skills, whilst tagging @RedrowHomes on their chosen social channel, while using the hashtag #RedrowBallGameChallenge.

Sporting influencers @shannon.freestyle and @rj.skills and tennis pro @TheTennisMentor will be panellists to decide who the winner is. They’ll be sharing their own tricks and tips across the entry period, check out their videos for some more inspiration.

The competition has been launched as part of Redrow’s ‘Please Play Here’ campaign to encourage children to play outdoors. This comes as research has revealed that a third of children have never played on their street, and that only 30% regularly visit their local park. And 78% of parents agree that children don’t play out as much as they used to.

As a result, Redrow has made new commitments to prioritise play across their developments:

Prioritise play spaces being in easy walkable distances from homes.

Create and up-weight Play on the Way and Natural Play spaces for children of all ages and genders to encourage physical activity and a sense of connection to their local communities.

Place multi-functional green spaces and corridors where play is actively encouraged through the design of the space.

Design new play areas collaboratively with local children, including the appointment of Redrow’s Junior ‘heads’ of play, to deliver creative, interesting, and engaging spaces that the local community are invested in.
Encourage physical and active play through the provision of exercise activities for adults and teenagers such as outdoor gyms and trim trails.
Facilitate play in all seasons through events, partnerships, and creation of new spaces at our developments.

Actively consider the importance of safe streets and street play when designing routes through our developments.

Regularly maintain and evaluation of play spaces to ensure children can find new and interesting experiences that challenge and engage them as they develop.
