Clinicians and celebrities came together at the Jorja Emerson Centre in London last night to celebrate the official opening of the UK’s first innovative medical health clinic – with an intimate performance and interview from Peter Andre.

Following a tour of the state-of-the-art clinic, guests heard from Robin Emerson about the areas the clinic specialises in which include chronic pain, neurology, mental illness, addiction, autism diagnosis and ADHD, and about the inspiration behind the clinic, Jorja Emerson, whose life was saved by the use of medical cannabis treatment.

Robin went on to explain the centre’s mission, aims, and innovative treatments with an awareness around mental health conditions.

Joining Robin, Peter Andre talked about his own mental health challenges in a relaxed and open conversation about raising awareness around mental health struggles. Peter then went on to play an intimate set that had attendees up on their feet dancing.

Robin Emerson, Director of the Jorja Emerson Centre, commented: “What the centre stands for is hope. Jorja had up to 30 seizures a day and I fought long and hard to help her.
“Fortunately for others, we have now brought together the latest medications and technologies and host them all under one roof. The private practice offers in-house diagnostic services including MRI, genetic testing, sequencing, and ultrasound and our accredited laboratory offers a wide range of same day testing.

“Being able to access such facilities in a cost-effective way and at speed is a lifeline for individuals and families that are in immediate need.”

The clinic was named after Robin’s daughter Jorja Emerson, who was misdiagnosed as terminally ill when she was suffering from intractable epilepsy. Robin has been campaigning ever since which resulted in Jorja being the first child to receive prescription medical cannabis when the law changed in November 2018.
