From Monday 15 May 2023, adult education provider, ACL Essex, will host a photography exhibition at County Hall in Chelmsford to showcase learners’ photography. Entry to the exhibition will be free and it will run until Friday 26 May 2023.

Under the theme of ‘Finding the Light’, the exhibition demonstrates how learners on the recent NCFE Level 2 certificate in photography course have used light creatively to convey colour, texture and emotion.

· Aukse Davliene describes her photography as a means of personal expression and social commentary. She plans to turn her passion and love for street photography into a profession.
· Dominka Tutak’s project ‘When a Queen meets her sister’ is a tribute to all strong independent women supporting and helping one another.
· Jenna Horner’s ‘Exploring Eerie Essex’ series is inspired by some of the most isolated, historical and haunted locations, documenting unique architecture to show the county in different light.
· Lynn Whitmore has explored experimental photography using intentional camera movement and the effects of light on glass in her exhibited photographs.

Lisa Jarentowski, ACL Essex’s Principal, says: “We’re really excited about this exhibition, it offers our learners a wonderful place to showcase their talents. Our learners, through dedication and commitment, have built wonderful and intriguing photographic portfolios, and the hard work of our learners and tutors deserves to be celebrated. Come on down to County Hall in Chelmsford and see for yourself how truly talented our learners are!”

ACL Essex offers a wide range of photography courses from ‘phone photography’, which is studied online, to ‘creative photography and fine art’. The next Level 2 Award in Photography will start from 6 June. The 37-week course lasts for three hours on a Tuesday evening, which takes place at ACL Chelmsford, Beeches Close, Chelmsford.
