The Bubble of Love is a story that has successfully been used with children in therapy, it helps children to develop a stronger sense of ‘self’, enabling them to deal with tricky interpersonal relationships and elements of bullying.

Covering separation anxiety while focusing on real-life situations experienced by children as they venture out independently, the book gives practical advice on how to manage the ups and downs of life outside home. The Bubble of Love is perfect for children aged 5–11 years old, but is also an excellent tool for parents and caregivers too.

About The Bubble of Love

Lily is having a tricky day at school. She is missing her Mum… and Boris Boreham and Trixie Temperton are being mean. Everything is going wrong, and Lily can’t wait to get home for the weekend. But…the weekend goes too fast, and Lily has worries about the new school week.

Joe has worries too, but luckily Mum and Dad have a clever way of helping the children feel confident and happier. Lily and Joe’s parents share a magical way to manage life’s tricky situations, using photos, drawing materials, imagination and LOVE!

Together they create a special Bubble of Love, and think about what makes them unique, and all the people who love them. As they draw the ‘walls’ of their Bubbles, Lily and Joe feel safer and stronger… As they think about their special people, they feel absolutely loved.

But things don’t always go smoothly, and Lily must practice new ways of thinking and being. Watch as the children grow ‘brave muscles’. Learn how Lily and Joe grow confidence and ability to deal with tricky people and situations. But above all, experience how the children carry the love of their family wherever they go!

Not only is The Bubble of Love a heart-warming and relatable story, it’s also a tool for care givers and parents to share their own Bubble of Love and help children from ages 5-11 foster courage and resilience.

“The idea for The Bubble of Love came to me many years ago, when my daughter was experiencing confidence issues at school and struggling with separation. I introduced the idea to my children of a ‘Bubble of Love’, which they were surrounded and protected by. We used to talk about how the Bubble walls were made of love from significant people, and it went everywhere with them,” says Cathryn.

“Originally, I worked in schools, supporting learning and went on to train as a teacher and Counsellor. I used the Bubble concept effectively to help children develop confidence and resilience and the idea began to expand. Above all I recognised how we all develop confidence and resilience if we feel loved and appreciated and these feelings are developed very early on in life. Whilst the Bubble concept develops an inner confidence and resilience, it also helps young people to think about external mediums of support and an awareness that someone “is there for you”.”
