Bellway Essex teamed up with Chelmsford Ladies Circle to raise money for a hospice that supports people with life-limiting illnesses.

The housebuilder, which has its regional head office in the city and is building new homes at nearby Beaulieu Grange, donated chocolate prizes for the club’s Easter Bunny Hunt at Admirals Park on Sunday last week .

As many as 317 children took part in the hunt for 12 bunnies hidden around the park, with each participant given a prize.

Ticket sales for the event raised £1,300 for Farleigh Hospice in Chelmsford, which provides hospice care to people who are affected by life-limiting illnesses and bereavement across Mid Essex.

Lindsay Griggs, the Chair of Chelmsford Ladies Circle, said: “The Bunny Hunt was a huge success and it was enjoyed by us and all who came along on the day.

“We receive a high number of enquiries every year at Chelmsford Circle with people joining us to meet new people, to get out more and try new things, or to continue the legacy having grown up in a family of Circlers.

“Bellway helped us cover some of the cost of the chocolate prizes at our Easter Bunny Hunt with their £100 sponsorship this year.

“The sponsorship we receive from local companies is invaluable. In addition to helping us cover the costs of the event, it means we can donate more to Farleigh Hospice.”

Bellway opened its Beaulieu Grange development at Beaulieu, on the northern outskirts of Chelmsford, on Saturday 15 April. The development will deliver 194 new homes off Remembrance Avenue.

Jenny Walker, Sales Director of Bellway Essex, said: “We were keen to support Chelmsford Ladies Circle’s Bunny Hunt because it is a wonderful way to raise money for a hospice that does such amazing work helping local people with life-limiting illnesses.

“As Chelmsford is the home of our regional headquarters, we are proud of our links with charitable organisations in the city.

“We see championing the efforts of groups such as Chelmsford Ladies Circle as a key part of our work supporting the local community as we provide new housing in the area.”
