Felicity Hayward, body positivity campaigner; Neil Jones of Strictly Come Dancing fame and his girlfriend Love Island 2022 contestant Chyna Mills join Marvel fans such as TikTok star Max Balegde and fashion influencer Elias Riadi as the first to step into the incredible world of Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy for the opening night. Secret Cinema brings audiences a new type of space adventure as part of their fully immersive experience.

Secret Cinema Presents Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for fans to be able to step right into the world of the famous film: helping, competing, and dancing with their on-screen heroes to an awesome soundtrack. The collectable trinkets, other-worldly terrain and familiar faces aren’t all that will greet fans along their immersive journey.

This unparalleled cinematic experience transports fans on an intergalactic adventure like no other. The audience start their journey on the neon landscape of Contraxia, where they can attempt to beat Star-Lord in a cosmic dance-off, dodge metaphors with Drax or choose their own adventure tracks with the other Guardians.

This venture marks the first of three anticipated collaborations between Disney Studios Content and Secret Cinema and will likely be one of the most ambitious immersive experiences the UK has ever seen.

Having led the immersive industry for the last 15 years, Secret Cinema unveils its next seismic leap by answering the number one question from film fans: How on earth (or off earth, in this case) do they plan to bring to life the heroes Rocket and Groot?

The answer is, naturally, a secret.

The audience use transparent screens and touch pads to collect units in competitions, challenges, and other interactive games to help save the galaxy, but that’s not the only high-tech element to star in this first-of-its-kind immersive experience. A whopping 112 million pixels and some cutting-edge LG OLED display technology will host perspective-bending scenes. During the enhanced screening of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, hundreds of customisable pixel lighting strips help action from the film extend from the screen into the audience.

Throughout the immersive event, fans also witness jaw-dropping aerial tumbling and lasers in the longest-ever choreographed Secret Cinema fight scene at the culmination of the experience.

To help make this journey to space accessible to new audiences, Secret Cinema has introduced a new ticket type, the Immersive ticket, starting from just £35. To ensure accessibility is prioritised, there are subtitled screening at selected performances, a quiet space, and Audio Enhanced services available.

Accompanied by an awesome mixtape, it’s now possible to enjoy the exotic thrills of Contraxia, brave the dangers of the lawless planet Knowhere, and join the Guardians on an out-of-this-world adventure.

There are intergalactic dance-offs to be won, planets to be explored, and a galaxy to be saved.

Max Alexander, CEO, Secret Cinema said: “Guardians of the Galaxy is an iconic franchise and it’s been an absolute pleasure to work alongside the creative teams to bring the spectacular world to life in a brand-new way. We have been incredibly ambitious to bring to life an experience like no other, with an unparalleled tech-led event transporting guests into another world. Most exciting of all, for the first time ever guests will be able to step into a never-before-seen Guardians storyline against a backdrop of sensational special effects.”

Sarah Beers, VP, Franchise Creative & Marketing, Marvel Studios: “Marvel Studios strives to build intricate and fascinating worlds that fans can fully engage in, so we are beyond thrilled to be able to work with Secret Cinema on this project to bring the sights and sounds of a cosmic adventure to life in an immersive cinematic experience like no other.”
