Thurrock MP Jackie Doyle-Price has visited Tevva’s new manufacturing base, to gain insight on how the company is delivering new technologies for freight decarbonisation, and to learn how the company’s plans for growth are bringing jobs and local economic growth to the area.

Jackie Doyle-Price was given a tour of Tevva HQ and heard about the company’s plans to tackle climate change by putting zero-emission trucks on British and European roads. On the tour, Jackie also heard how Tevva was contributing to the UK’s efforts in scaling up and building back better.

The visit offered the MP insights on the future of new technologies for decarbonisation such as hydrogen, a key priority for the UK Government. This visit also offered Jackie the chance to see how Tevva will soon begin series production of electric trucks at the site in London Distribution Park. Tevva will produce more than 200 electric trucks this year and more than 2,000 in 2023.

The MP said: “I was amazed to visit Tevva and see the ambitious plans for the development and production of a new generation of electric trucks. These vehicles will be genuinely transformational for the freight industry. I look forward to supporting Tevva in future so that we harness this exciting new industry here in Thurrock.”

Jackie has been Member of Parliament for Thurrock since 2010 and has been a consistent advocate for the Port of Tilbury and the opportunities that the port brings to the local area.

Tevva COO Peter Domeney said: “It was a pleasure to meet Jackie and to see her interest in the impact that Tevva will have in the local area, particularly on manufacturing jobs and economic growth.

“The interest in Tevva, and the work that we are doing, continues to build”, Peter added. “Jackie was particularly interested to learn how we are constantly adding to our engineering expertise by hiring the best and the brightest. We are adding so many young engineers to our workforce, and we are proud to be investing in them and their future.”
