A prominent events management and catering company is offering its support to the armed forces by backing a veteran employee scheme.

Seasoned has signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant to “give back to the heroic soldiers” who have spent years defending the country.

The Ingatestone-based catering firm is now on a mission to diversify its workforce by becoming a forces friendly employer.

The company will support veterans by providing them with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in the events and catering industry.

Seasoned Managing Partner Events, Colin Sayers, said: “It is an honour to give back to the heroic soilders who have put their lives on the line to protect our nation.

“We believe that veterans will shine in our industry as there are so many transferable skills that lead into the events and catering sector.”

He added: “By supporting the employment of veterans and service leaders, we are giving them an opportunity to venture on to a new career path as they adapt to life outside of the forces.

“Signing up to the Armed Forces Covenant will allow us to show our appreciation to those who have served.”

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation to ensure that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly.

By working with the community, the Covenant focusses on helping members of the armed forces to receive the same access to products and government and commercial services as any other citizen.
