Davina Steel Gluten Free’s Export Sales Soar

Whilst the UK has seen supply chain issues and shortages in the food sector, Gluten Free Bakery business, Davina Steel is currently enjoying a massive surge in export orders.

Having entered the export arena relatively recently, Davina Steel’s kits and mixes, crostini, biscotti, gingerbread bites and shortbread are already being enjoyed all over the world, with substantial orders to the USA, Canada, Australia, UAE, Guyana, Hong Kong and the Cayman Islands.

“Export sales have grown far quicker than we ever could have expected,” explains Dan Jennings, co-owner of Davina Steel. “We’ve produced a new line of shortbread biscuits and gingerbread bites in larger packs specifically for export, and with orders still flooding in, we’ve had to increase our staff to cope with the growing demand.”

Continues Dan, “We’re seeing huge interest from all over the world, including Europe, which has, in effect, been ‘on hold’ for many exporters after the UK left the EU, but we expect that to be resolved in due course.

Davina Steel works with export partner, Food Export International. “The Davina Steel range of Gluten Free snacks have been incredibly popular in export due to the brand’s consistency in producing the highest quality snacks in the category. Their flexibility towards pack formats and bespoke ideas has also enabled them to grasp opportunities otherwise not available and has been widely appreciated by our export customer base.”

Davina Steel produces a range of gluten free baking kits and mixes, as well as bakery snacks from its purpose-built gluten free factory in Halstead, Essex.
