Travelodge, the UK’s first budget hotel brand which operates 586 hotels across the UK, Ireland and Spain, today announces the appointment of leisure veteran, Martin Robinson, as its new Chairman.
Martin has spent most of his career within the leisure sector and brings a wealth of brand building, strategic management and leadership expertise. He spent 17 years at Center Parcs as CEO of their European business and Chairman of the UK.
He also spent 10 years on the Boards of Disneyland Paris and Regus Plc and has chaired various other businesses, including Holmes Place Health Clubs and wagamama.
Martin currently chairs the UK business for Burger King, the second largest fast food chain in the world and Parkdean Resorts, the UK’s largest holiday park operator.

During the pandemic Travelodge has operated a smaller network of hotels from Plymouth to Elgen to provide accommodation for: key / critical workers, NHS staff, business workers, employees allowed to travel and also supported local authorities across the UK. The company has also implemented TravelodgeProtect+ across all of its hotels. This multi-million pound Covid-19 safety programme has been created in line with Government guidance and is designed to keep customers and staff safe and protected. Travelodge is now gearing up for the uplifting of restrictions on hotels across the UK.
