Harlow Council to provide shelter to rough sleepers

0

Harlow Council is providing shelter to rough sleepers from tonight (21 November 2019) until Monday morning (25 November 2019).

Local hotel accommodation will be provided tonight with St. Paul’s Church running a night shelter from Friday to Monday.

The provision will be reviewed on Monday and local weather conditions will continue to be monitored throughout the winter period.

Further shelter will be provided when severe weather is forecast. This is part of measures in place to support rough sleepers.

Streets2Homes and the council’s community safety team are aware of the shelter and can refer people to the council’s housing team for support.

Residents concerned about anyone sleeping rough in Harlow can connect them to local help and support 24 hours a day via https://streetlink.org.uk

All reports to streetlink are acted upon by the council working with the Streets2Homes outreach team.
