REVIEW: Dead Ringer film “Dead Ringer has brought indie films onto another level”

0

Dead Ringer (2018) contains full package of action, comedy and wall-to-wall music as a main character, young unsuccessful singer, Jamie (Luke White) who’s career would never pick up because someone got there first – his lookalike and the worlds most famous face – lead singer of boyband – Donny Martin.

Shame for Jamie however life brings him an interesting turn of events when Donny Martin dies in a car crush and the group’s manager and part time evil gangster and drug smuggler – Jay Kamala, decides to replace Jamie (who looks very much like Donny) to become the new Donny of the boyband, keep everything under wraps and still make a lot of money from the boyband.

Jamie jumps into the opportunity without thinking twice, abandoning the love of his life and faking his death. He dives into the lavish life of Donny Martin – world tours, fame, girls, sun and sexy Ferrari adventures!

Sounds easy? The plan works until 3 million dollars get stolen and Jamie – now Donny – discovers secrets of Donny and Jay Kamala and gets himself in trouble.

The film keeps up with the constant load of action, fights and deaths.

There is something for the ladies too, a bit of romance when Jamie gets reunited with his lover – Melanie (Danielle Harold) and the scene gives us goosebumps and turns everyone into a softie.

Excellent performance and debut of Luke White in a starring and challenging role of two characters, Tom Sizemore as Boyd (Saving Private Ryan) and groundbreaking performance of Bentley Kalu.

Produced by Amar Adatia and directed by Richard Colton, Dead Ringer has brought the indie films onto another level.

I assure you’ll be D5’s number one fan and singing along to the original track “on fire” – beware, its catchy!!
