If you are familiar with the modelling industry, the name Damien Morley is one that won’t need much of an introduction.Speaking candidly to Essex Mag Morley outlined his plans to buy the Page 3 brand from The Sun and News UK. When asked about the brand Morley said, “Page 3 is an institution, nearly 50 years old and still garnering strong support by fans and models. I have spoken with the powers that be and i have expressed an interest in the brand moving forward. I see a very bright future for it and everyone associated with it. Anything i can do to facilitate another 50 years of Page 3 i wholeheartedly will.”

“Page 3 is a cornerstone, not only of our industry but of a historic United Kingdom. The argument that the biggest selling newspaper shouldn’t feature page 3 is flawed. The Sun newspaper is the biggest selling newspaper in the UK not inspite of Page 3 but largely because of it.”

Morley went on to talk about the history of his company and how they work together with The Sun; “GIRL Management was established by Page 3 girls as a means to look after them and manage them in a way no other company could. Owned by models, working for models. GIRL Management retains this ethos to this day. No model is better managed than one at GIRL Management”.

Morley spoke about how the model world has become a far more dangerous.

“Before the Ban Page 3 lobby and the pressure that pushed huge publishers to close their magazines the industry had rigorous codes of practice. A photoshoot would see up to 20 people on a location to create images of a single model. Access to models was near impossible, these companies treated their models like royalty. 5 star hotels in Cancun and helicopters at their disposal.” Now, with the internet, we have fans with cameras contacting girls on social media asking them to come to their houses and promising them sweets, I’m not even joking, sweets. “In the digital world that we find ourselves in, access to information is very easy, access to people is like never before. Safety of our models is our first concern, we utilise all of the tools at our disposal to ensure our clients operate with the professionalism that we demand. Whenever our models work, they are paid, if their images are ever sold, they are paid, for life.”

The local media mogul who is the owner of Girl Management, the leading glamour agency in Europe representing some of UK’s biggest glamour modelling names has wasted no time making his mark on the independent film scene joining the trailblazing production company Hereford Films which he now owns for with business partner,  film industry heavyweight Jonathan Sothcott. Since they teamed up Hereford has produced two cult sequels – the recently released We Still Steal The Old Way and the forthcoming Bonded By Blood 2. The busy slate for 2017 and beyond includes a move into television, an epic Shakespeare adaptation, a number of US-set horror and comedy films and a third and final entry in the We Still… series.

In an interview this year Morley told EssexTV “I’m a creative at heart. Unfortunately creative industries were always tough to break into for a kid on a council estate but i believe hard work and determination will always win through.”

With expertise in a wide range of commercial fields, success has become the one byword that runs through Morley’s CV as his businesses success is clearly documented in Girl Management whose client list has included Lucy Pinder, Rhian Sugden, Stacey Poole, Melissa Debling, Sammy Braddy and Victoria Silvestedt.

With a growing stock of film production credits and building a media empire after starting in a council estate, one thing is for sure Damien Morley is a name we are going to hear more and more of.
