On their 5th anniversary, the K-9 Angels are delighted to announce that Sue Barker OBE is now a Patron of the UK-based all volunteer dog rescue charity the K-9 Angels

Two years ago Sue and her husband Lance decided that they wanted to help the charity further by adopting a rescue dog that wasn’t easy to rehome
Baiatu and a pack of seven other dogs were found on an old factory grounds, where they lived off scraps of food thrown to them by factory workers.
The dogs had been rehomed in a temporary compound by the K-9 Angels, and one by one Baiatu’s friends had all been found homes, but Baiatu hadn’t.
“I’ve been a dog lover all my life and a dog owner for some 28 years, so this charity is close to my heart”.
Set up in 2011 by model and radio host Victoria Eisermann, TV presenter Anneka Tanaka-Svenska, and singer Pola Pospieszalska, the K-9 Angels help some of the million dogs roaming wild on Romania’s streets before they’re hunted down by ‘dog catchers’ and stuck in squalid state-run pounds awaiting euthanasia.
So far they have rehomed over 800 dogs.
“Rescuing him and welcoming him into our home has been the most amazing experience. We did wonder what we were taking on. Was he house-trained? Would he walk on a lead?”
“We had so many questions – but the charity was wonderfully reassuring and supportive.”

He has settled into Sue’s home very well and Baiatu, or Batty as he is now fondly known as, is “the cleanest dog we’ve ever had, he’s never had an accident. He walks immaculately on the lead too.”
This year has seen Big Brother winner Jason Burrill fly to Romania with the K 9 Angels to rescue dogs and co founder Victoria Eisermann climbed Mount Kilimanjaro despite having a slipped disc to raise funds and awareness for spay and neutering.
In 2017 the team of volunteers at the K-9 Angels plan to carry on their mass spay and neuter campaign, extend their shelter build, carry on with their school tour to educate young children of the importance of pet care and hope to raise lots more money and awareness to save many more dogs lives.
K-9 Angel co founder Victoria Eisermann says,
“We are so delighted that Sue has become a patron of the K 9 Angels. She is as passionate about dogs as we are and has provided a wonderful home to Baiatu too. We can’t thank her enough for her amazing support.”
