Colombia’s president Juan Manuel Santos and his wife Maria Clemencia Rodriguez de Santos touched down at Stansted at the start of their official state visit on Monday (Oct 31).
The presidential jet arrived at the airport’s private Inflite Jet Centre at 11:45am. The President and Mrs Santos were welcomed to the UK by The Viscount Hood, Lord-in-Waiting and Stansted Airport’s CEO, Andrew Cowan.
It is the first state visit to the UK by a Colombian President. The president will travel to Belfast on Thursday.
