Colombo Kitchen’s much-loved Royal High Tea is back for its sixth year this Mother’s Day – an experience that sells out every year.
Inspired by the warmth and generosity of Sri Lankan homes, this special menu reflects the deep-rooted tradition of sharing tea: with a generous spread of savoury bites, homemade cakes and the finest Ceylon tea.
It’s a celebration of heritage, nostalgia and the simple joy of gathering — especially in honour of the mothers who bring families to the table.
This year’s nostalgic menu includes:
Savoury
Fish bun (or vegetarian bun) — soft handmade bun with a savoury filling
Crispy battered prawns (vegetarian alternative: masala vadai with sambal)
Rainbow sandwich — the beloved three-layer vegetarian party classic
Chicken roll (or jackfruit roll) — Colombo Kitchen’s signature crispy fried roll with creamy spiced savoury filling
Sweet
Sri Lankan chocolate butter cake with chocolate fudge icing
Kithul cheesecake
Traditional love cake
Optional add-on
Freshly baked scones with cardamom butter and jam
All served with a choice of Ceylon teas. Vegetarian options are available throughout, and additional dietary requirements can be accommodated.
