Essex-born Mia Drennan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of GLAS, has been named the EY Entrepreneur of the Year UK Winner for 2025.
Mia received the prestigious award following a year-long selection process that began with over 400 nominees. She was one of thirteen finalists from across the UK recognised for their outstanding leadership, passion for innovation and contribution to the UK economy.
The judges commended Mia for scaling GLAS across ten countries, twelve cities, and four continents, building a market-leading independent platform that now services over £500 billion in Assets Under Management (AUM).
Under her leadership, GLAS has grown to a team of more than 450 professionals worldwide, partnering with the world’s leading law firms, financial institutions, and corporates to deliver excellence across the global capital markets.
Speaking on the award, Mia said:
“I’m incredibly proud to be named EY Entrepreneur of the Year for the UK. It’s been an extraordinary journey building GLAS into the global business it is today, with many ups, downs, and glass ceilings broken along the way.
“This award is a testament not only to the past fifteen years of hard work, but to the exceptional team we’ve built around the world.
“Together, we’ve created a business with entrepreneurship embedded in its DNA, and I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has played a part in this achievement.”
Winners are selected by an independent panel of judges from diverse industries, recognising leaders who demonstrate excellence in innovation, financial performance, social responsibility, and personal commitment to their business and community.
Following this national win, Mia will go on to represent GLAS and the UK at the EY European Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 2026.
Now in its 40th year, the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards celebrate visionary leaders driving progress and transformation across 94 countries and territories worldwide.
