The founder of a home care provider offering care across Essex has won Executive of the Year at the 2025 Leaders in Care Awards, held on October 7 at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham.
Lausa Biragi, founder and managing director of You & I Care, which was founded in Brentwood and now operates services across Essex, Hertfordshire, and Surrey, accepted the award which celebrates her leadership and dedication to the care industry, as well as her commitment to improving the quality and accessibility of home care services.
Throughout the last year, Lausa has used her platform to address critical issues such as funding, workforce shortages, and recruitment barriers in the care sector. Her advocacy has included appearances on BBC Radio and Heart Radio, as well as coverage in regional press, where she has consistently commented on fair treatment for care professionals and pushed for urgent government reforms to protect home care services.

In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing challenges in the social care sector, Lausa has led from the front, offering invaluable leadership during difficult times. She has also been vocal in opposing government delays in social care reforms and proposed increases in sponsorship fees for overseas care workers, advocating instead for practical solutions to build a sustainable UK-based workforce.
Her leadership continues to motivate others in the industry, as You & I Care now focuses on exclusively recruiting staff nationally, all while upholding the highest standards of care throughout the region.
