Major Grant to Help Autistic Children Thrive at Home

Transforming Autism is proud to announce that it has received its largest funding award to date – £45,000 from the Sir Halley Stewart Trust. This generous grant will support the development and pilot of a new, progressive online early intervention programme for young autistic children and their families. The programme, designed by our clinical therapist Nicholas Krueckeberg and led by CEO Tracy Pepper, is set to increase national access to timely, home-based therapeutic support – no matter where families live.

Building on the charity’s existing First Steps programme, which has already helped families thrive through in-home interventions, the new online model will enable therapists to work directly with parents via live video coaching and support – embedding skills and understanding into everyday interactions.

By working through secure online platforms, we can break down the barriers that often prevent families from getting the support they need. Our pilot will begin with ten families in early 2026, with plans to reach more families across the UK through a wider roll-out in 2027 and 2028.

CEO Tracy Pepper expressed her excitement about the grant and the impact it will have on families:
“We are thrilled that the Sir Halley Stewart Trust has recognised the potential of our new, innovative online coaching programme for parents of young autistic children, and made a very generous funding award toward its development over the next three years.

With long NHS waiting lists for diagnosis and support, Transforming Autism is dedicated to developing solutions and services that autistic children and their families can benefit from in their early years, so they can go on to flourish and reach their full potential. Without funders like the Sir Halley Stewart Trust, our work would not be possible.”

The Sir Halley Stewart Trust, which champions innovative ways to improve lives, shares our belief in providing early, compassionate, and accessible support to families when it matters most. Their funding marks a major milestone for Transforming Autism and a huge step forward in our mission to ensure every autistic child can grow up in an environment where they feel truly understood and able to flourish.
