Greater Anglia staff proudly joined Norwich Pride 2025 to celebrate the 17th annual celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community in Norwich and inclusion across the city.
As the Main Sponsor for the event, the train operator, which runs trains throughout the East of England, took part in the march and celebrations that transformed the city into a rainbow on Saturday 26 July.
Around 60 Greater Anglia staff, their friends, and families proudly wore branded T-shirts, waved flags, and held banners during the march that began at City Hall before winding through the streets of the city towards Chapelfield Gardens. Its progress through the streets of Norwich was a symbol of protest, visibility, and a show of strength in numbers.
Greater Anglia also hosted a stall in Chapelfield Gardens complete with face painters, merchandise, music, props, sweets, and other giveaways.
Norwich Pride, now in its 17th year, is a celebration of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual+ (LGBTQIA+) community for everyone. Their mission is for everyone to live in a city where everyone can feel safe and proud to be themselves.
Greater Anglia’s presence at the event came about following an idea from its LGBT+ ‘Affinity’ network group for employees in 2024, when it was the Entertainment Sponsor for the city celebration.
Lee Ivor Smith, Greater Anglia’s Head of Customer Service South and Affinity Executive Sponsor, said:
“Norwich Pride 2025 was a stunning event. With around 60 of our colleagues, their family, and friends on the march, there was such a vibrant atmosphere, and we were all happily waving flags, dancing, and proudly wearing our T-shirts.
“Lots of people came to our stall and left with painted and glittery faces, while we shared the message that the railway is open to anyone, whoever you may be.
“We are really proud to have played our part to help spread love, kindness, and acceptance across Norwich and East Anglia.”
