On Friday the 3rd of November, Sir John Whittingdale ceremoniously cut Burnham Waters’ ribbon and opened its doors. Now, this brand-new community for over 55s is ready to welcome potential buyers to an exciting public open day on Saturday the 11th of November.

Sharing his support for Burnham Waters, Sir John Whittingdale OBE said:

‘I am very much aware of the need locally for high quality retirement housing of this kind and I have no doubt that it will prove very popular. I have been impressed by the efforts made to ensure that the needs of residents are fully catered for and also welcome the additional job opportunities that Burnham Waters brings. I hope that all who come to live here in this beautiful part of Essex will be very happy’.

At the opening, Sir John Whittingdale discussed the need for communities like this across the UK. Burnham Waters is the first retirement community of its kind, and the team behind this development share Whittingdale’s vision; they are hoping to redefine the industry, setting an unprecedented standard of living and care for over 55s.

Meanwhile, Sir Barry Hearn OBE, who also attended the opening, has highlighted the invaluable opportunities that Burnham Waters will bring to Essex:

‘I have visited Burnham Waters and seen first-hand how this community will benefit the local area. Every home has been thoughtfully designed to support residents’ needs, whilst Burnham Waters will make lots of new, high-quality facilities accessible to the entire community. As a result, invaluable new job opportunities will also become available. I am a keen supporter of this development and am delighted to celebrate its opening.’

Burnham Waters’ Project Director, Ian Holloway, adds:

‘Friday was a huge success, and we are thrilled to be having our first residents move into the development this month. Seeing so many people view our homes was truly inspiring; they could see first-hand the exceptional quality of what we’ve created and the unique atmosphere and sense of community that you feel when you step foot in Burnham Waters.

Burnham Waters will offer a thriving new community where likeminded people can enjoy access to a huge array of leisure facilities and amenities right on their doorstep.

For those that need it, Burnham Waters’ residents will have access to the very best fall-detection technology, offering round-the-clock support. This development will be a thriving, welcoming, safe place for both residents and the wider Burnham community.

Now, we are looking forward to the first of our Public Open Days on Saturday the 11th of November. Attendees can view three show homes, our plans for phase 1, and artists’ impressions for the wider development, experiencing Burnham Waters for themselves.’
Refreshments will be available throughout the day, whilst Burnham Waters’ agents will be on hand to answer questions.
