Glaucoma UK’s campaign for National Eye Health Week 2023, which will run from 18 to 24 September, focuses on delivering essential bitesize information about glaucoma that can be read or viewed in under one minute.

Part of the charity’s mission is to raise awareness about the disease and the significance of timely information dissemination in safeguarding people’s eyesight. With social media being a powerful platform that connects billions of people worldwide, it makes it an ideal place to share valuable knowledge. The digital campaign consists of a series of videos that will be posted throughout the week. These videos contain thoughtfully designed content to fit into people’s fast-paced daily routines, ensuring that time constraints are not a barrier to accessing essential knowledge.

Glaucoma UK’s Chief Executive, Joanne Creighton, said, “For National Eye Health Week 2023, Glaucoma UK is raising awareness of glaucoma by delivering essential bitesize information about the disease. Dedicating less than one minute to learn about glaucoma could potentially save your sight in the future and taking 10 seconds to share it on social media might safeguard the vision of countless others as well.”

The campaign provides an opportunity for collective impact that we can create when people unite to spread awareness about a disease. By taking a few seconds to share the bitesize content, people can become an agent of change, a guardian of sight and an advocate for the well-being of their loved ones and the broader community.
