Southend United FC is delighted to have agreed a ‘Good Neighbour’ partnership with London Southend Airport in a brand-new collaboration on several mutual projects.
Football and travel will unite in an innovative arrangement to cross-promote the local club and award-winning airport throughout Southend, whilst branching further afield into the east of London and southeast of England.

A joint advertising initiative is the first step in a combined effort to unite the businesses, reach a wider audience and support shared campaigns.

The Blues’ messaging will be seen by more than 75,000 arriving and departing passengers at London Southend thanks to prime advertising spaces in the airport terminal and onsite train station; simultaneously, airport messaging will feature prominently at Roots Hall with pitchside boards and stadium posters.
Southend United are also pleased to announce plans for the 2023/24 ‘Match for Mind’ in aid of local mental health charity, South East and Central Essex Mind (SECE Mind). And as part of the ‘Good Neighbour’ agreement, London Southend is set to bolster this event with digital activity, promotion and in-person support.

The fundraising football match will take place against Solihull Moors on Saturday, October 21 to coincide as closely as possible with World Mental Health Day (Tuesday, October 10).

Rylee Doe, Commercial Executive at Southend United, said: “This landmark agreement signifies the start of a long- term plan between the football club and one of its biggest neighbours.

“London Southend Airport is a company we have been determined to work with for a number of seasons and we look forward to a healthy relationship together to bring about positive change.”

Caroline Fitzgerald, Customer Service and Commercial Director at London Southend Airport, added: “We are delighted to work in tandem with Southend United FC as we continue to develop and grow alongside one other as two recognisable, pivotal and long-standing pillars in Southend-on-Sea.
“At the heart of this collaboration lies a shared commitment to the local community; just as London Southend Airport connects individuals to new destinations, football brings us back together. Watch this space – there’s more to come.”

London Southend Airport serve Essex and east London with a number of destinations across Europe including: Alicante, Paris, Malaga, Palma, Amsterdam, Faro, Geneva, Bulgaria and Lapland.
