PRIME Minister Rishi Sunak WILL deliver on his five key targets and good progress is being made, according to the Conservative MP Alun Cairns.

The former Wales Secretary told GB News: “He said at the outset that these policies were going to be challenging to deliver…I could go through them one by one and demonstrate the progress that’s been made.

“I’m very confident we’re going to make really good progress on all of it. Let’s see what happens because you’ll remember the economy just a couple of months ago and how we were predicted to go into recession.

“The economists have revised that since so I’m much more optimistic…

“We know that there are lefty lawyers and campaign groups that are doing everything to stop the Prime Minister’s plan to deport people to Rwanda.”

“The point I’m making is this has been mired in the legal process because of lefty lawyers that are challenging us along the way and supported by people like Keir Starmer, as a lefty lawyer himself, then clearly those are the sort of challenges that we’re facing.

“So, originally I sort of had some scepticism, concerns about the deportation to Rwanda. But having researched it and having recognised that the United Nations Refugee Agency themselves send people from Libya to Rwanda, then that demonstrates the safety of the policy.

Asked if the Government might be forced to abandon the policy, he added: “I’m optimistic that we will make good progress on this. I’m sure we won’t abandon the policy but it’s when these lefty lawyers had campaign groups continue to challenge at every stage and clearly, this is just one element of a much wider range of policies.

“But I’m optimistic that we will get there and public opinion is on our side on this that we need to stop those treacherous crossings.”
