Honest Burgers has announced the return of its best-selling Teriyaki Burger specials, putting mushrooms back on the menu after trending as one of the tastes of last year.
2022 may have been the ‘Year of the Fungi’, but this January Honest Burgers will serve-up two limited edition Teriyaki specials featuring Fable pulled shiitake mushrooms, with both plant-based and meat-build dishes available for vegans, vegetarians and flexitarians to dive into.
Created in collaboration with the purveyors of mushroom-based meat alternatives, Fable Food Co, diners can look forward to an indulgent sweet-savoury build to beat the winter blues with the Vegan Teriyaki Special.
Featuring a plant-based burger patty covered in Fable’s pulled shiitake mushrooms and a signature teriyaki sauce, the special is topped off with Applewood Vegan cheese, grilled peppers, spring onions, lettuce and a homemade Japanese-inspired mayo that packs an umami punch.
If Honest Burgers’ signature beef patties are more your bag, don’t worry as its Teriyaki Beef Special will not disappoint featuring a layering of pulled shiitake mushrooms, teriyaki sauce, double American cheese, as well as the grilled peppers, spring onions, umami mayo and lettuce.
Each Teriyaki Burger special comes with Honest’s homemade vegan umami mayo, made with garlic, dijon mustard, gochujang, rice wine vinegar and black pepper, bringing a rich and moreish addition to complement the sweet-savoury flavours of the teriyaki.

Bringing a taste of Japan to Honest Burgers’ menu for one month only, the Teriyaki Burgers will be available at all 43 Honest Burgers’ restaurants, from 3rd until 31 January.
The perfect burger indulgence for the winter blues, and comes served with homemade rosemary salted chips, seasonal coleslaw or dressed green salad included in the price.

The Vegan Teriyaki Burger is priced at £14.75 and the Teriyaki Beef Burger is £14 with side included.
