A David Wilson Homes Site Manager has won a top national award for the quality of homes being built at a housing development in Hatfield Peverel.

The National House Building Council (NHBC) has recognised Rob Ruffy (48) for his site management capabilities with a Regional Award, which marks David Wilson Homes as one of the nine large builder winners.

Rob is overseeing the construction of David Wilson Homes’ Mortimer Place development off Birkdale Rise, and has been working for the developer for over 25 years.
Rob said: “It’s brilliant to be recognised as the best Site Manager in the South East of England covering Essex, Kent and Sussex.

“Mortimer Place provides homes of an exceptional standard to last generations, and the award win is testament to how hard my team has worked to provide top quality homes in Essex for our customers.”

Last year alone for his work at Mortimer Place, Rob secured three NHBC awards for the level of quality and craftsmanship of the homes, technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail.

Rob’s Regional Award, on top of a Pride in the Job Quality Award and a Seal of Excellence, saw him secure one of the most prestigious awards the NHBC has to offer.

Tom Wright, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties, said: “Our Site Managers are on the ground each and every day making sure our housing developments are operating smoothly and to the high standards we set. We’d like to congratulate Rob for his continued hard work.

“With him winning such a prestigious award, it demonstrates the long-term commitment we’ve made to providing our customers with the best possible service.”

Five Site Managers working on Barratt and David Wilson Homes developments across the UK secured a Regional Award in 2022.

The winners of the Regional Award will be entered into the national Supreme Awards and the overall winner will be announced this month in Westminster.
