London family find their dream coastal home in Kirby Cross

A London family are enjoying Essex coastal life after relocating to a new Taylor Wimpey home at The Laurels in Kirby Cross.

David and Jane Bruce relocated to The Laurels from Woodford Green with their two daughters, leaving the home they had lived in for 28 years. It only took a single visit to the Taylor Wimpey development for the couple to make their mind up.

David said: “Our plans were to move out of London six to eight years from now, but with being able to work from home, we were able to bring this forward. We wanted to live somewhere coastal with lots of green space, and The Laurels has great transport links to London when I do need to go to the office.”

The couple visited a number of developments in and around Frinton-on-Sea but were so impressed with The Laurels that they made an instant decision to move.

Jane said: “We fell in love with The Laurels due to its location, its size and the style of the homes. When we got home, we put our house on the market immediately. Had we been unsuccessful in securing a plot, we would have held off moving altogether as nothing else came close.

“We liked the style, presentation and position of the house we chose, and the half cladding, the brickwork and tiles, and the amount of light in each room thanks to the large number of windows. The location, the open space, peace and quiet and small-but-spacious development are brilliant.

“With energy costs rising we were also mindful that moving from an old 1930’s property to a new build would help us save money on our bills. There are so many energy-efficient features in a Taylor Wimpey home, from the excellent insulation properties to the new and modern appliances.”

David and Jane’s decision to view The Laurels was thanks, in part, to Taylor Wimpey’s trustworthy reputation. Taylor Wimpey is rated ‘Great’ by customers on Trustpilot, and also has the highest score of all major housebuilders from the National House Building Council (NHBC)*.

David said: “Conor and the sales team could not have been more supportive. I don’t think we could have secured what is our dream home had it not been for his attention to our initial needs.”

The Laurels is a development of 116 two, three and four-bedroom homes, perfect for first time buyers and families alike. Just a few minutes from the coast, less than a mile from Kirby Cross rail station and with a wonderful small-but-spacious feel, the development benefits from a brilliant location and a fantastic sense of community.

Help to Buy is available on just a handful of two and three-bedroom homes.

*The score is a result of the NHBC’s Construction Quality Review (CQR) ratings – a thorough independent assessment of 38 build stages of each development. The rating of 4.67 out of 6 is industry-leading and an improvement on our 2020 score of 4.45.
