KING Charles and William SHOULD now speak out in response to claims being made by Harry and Meghan, a new poll reveals.

Buckingham Palace and Clarence House both announced last week that they have no plans to issue a statement in the wake of fresh allegations which emerged in the latest episodes of Harry and Meghan’s Netflix documentary.

However a survey conducted by GB News indicates the majority of Brits think this approach is wrong – and that the time has now come for the Royal Family to speak.

It found that 55 percent of those polled believe a response is now necessary, while 45 percent said the King and his son should keep a dignified silence.

Such a silence, if maintained, would follow in the traditions of the Queen who famously believed one should “never complain, never explain”.

Commenting on GB News’ Twitter poll of 2,836 people, GB News Royal Reporter Cameron Walker said: “ Just like the polarised public opinion of the Sussexes, there is now a clear divide on whether the Royal Household should respond to bombshell claims made by Prince Harry and Meghan in the final instalment of their Netflix documentary series.

“Many will be shocked Prince Harry has chosen to speak so publicly about his damaged relationship with his brother,
“I struggle to see how this will help mend the relationship between two brothers who lost their mother in tragic circumstances, and walked behind her coffin in front of billions at such a young age.
“Prince William and Prince Harry have shared experiences, but it’s clear the gap between them is widening.
“Prince Harry alleges Palace staff briefed negative stories about him and his wife in order to make less favourable coverage of more senior royals disappear. It’s challenging to give balance if Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace insist on staying silent, but insiders are adamant negative briefing simply never happened.
“Those who follow the royals closely have told me it’s admirable the Royal Household is not dignifying an American-produced Netflix documentary filled with what they see as ‘unsubstantiated’ claims with an official response.
“To them, reverting to the late Queen’s tactic of “never complain, never explain” seems sensible.
“I suspect Royal Communications teams are hoping the dust will settle in time to focus on the Princess of Wales’ Carol service at Westminster Abbey today, which is expected to pay tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II and her life of service. But only time will tell.”
In the latest episodes from this Netflix documentary Prince Harry ] described how “terrifying” it was to have his brother “scream and shout” at him when they met to discuss his and Meghan’s future.
Prince Harry says it was his decision, not Meghan’s, to leave after plans for a half-in, half-out royal life were rejected during a family meeting at Sandringham.
He says his father said things that “just simply weren’t true” as his grandmother, the Queen, looked on.
In the latest and final instalments of the docuseries, Harry and Meghan describe why they decided to give up their royal duties and move to the US, claiming they were not supported by the Royal Family during a barrage of negative press that was mainly directed at Meghan.
Meghan talks in detail about how she considered taking her own life. Harry describes how he feels shame looking back at how he reacted, reverting to “Institutional Harry” rather than “husband Harry”.

In 2020 the duke and duchess went to Sandringham, the royal estate in Norfolk, to discuss scenarios for the couple’s royal role with Harry’s father King Charles – then Prince Charles – as well as his brother and grandmother, the late Queen.

He recalls how the meeting went, saying: “It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me and my father say things that just simply weren’t true, and my grandmother quietly sit there and sort of take it all in.”
