Arctic Monkeys have earned an estimated £307,715 through Spotify streams of their latest album, The Car, in the last two weeks, new data has revealed.

The research, conducted by CasinoGuardian, found that all 10 tracks featured on the surprise album have been streamed a collective 102,571,657 times since dropping on Spotify on the 21st October – with each stream being worth at least £0.003.

Not all tracks on the album are equally as popular, the research shows, with the first song ‘There’d Better Be A Mirrorball’ proving the most-played at 33,136,945 streams so far. On the other end of the scale, it’s Mr Schwartz that’s the least-played, with 4,423,178 streams.

How does this compare to the band’s other hits? The data shows that ‘I Wanna Be Yours’ is currently the band’s most-played song (according to Spotify’s ‘popular’ display) and has been streamed over 676 million times, resulting in earnings of £3,382,675.

Meanwhile, ‘Do I Wanna Know?’ has been streamed over 1.4 billion times and has earned the band £7.5 million on Spotify, while ‘Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?’ has been streamed 949 million times – equivalent to £4.5 million in earnings.

The band’s new album has a long way to go before it reaches the same earning potential as their previous hits, but given it’s only been two weeks, it may well go the distance.
