The Baytree Shopping Centre has concluded its summer of fun with the closure of the popular Baytree Beach this September.

The free event ran throughout the school holidays and celebrated all the fun of the seaside, complete with deck chairs and buckets and spades. Families could come along to the shopping centre and make the most of the beautiful weather,
and even enjoy a Mr Whippy from the ice cream van.

In addition to the beach, the centre saw free activities running weekly on Wednesdays, with British classics such as Punch and Judy, sand art workshops and arts and crafts. Face painters were also on hand to turn children into sparkly
unicorns or superheroes!

Weekly treasure hunts were also available to get involved with, with six random entries winning a £20 voucher to spend at a store of their choice at The Baytree.

The winner of the Deckchair Selfie Competition was also announced on social media, with Princess Wynn Reyes-Shorter winning a £100 voucher that she chose to spend at Clarks at the shopping centre. The competition
was very popular with visitors, with 88 brilliant entries submitted via social media using the hashtag #BaytreeBeach.

Maria Kyriacou-Edwards, Centre Manager for The Baytree Shopping Centre, commented,
“It has been a spectacular summer here at The Baytree Shopping Centre, with our wonderful beach proving so popular with families here in Brentwood. It was wonderful to see such large crowds enjoying our free entertainment
and transforming into bright and brilliant characters by the fantastic face painters. A big congratulations to all of our competition winners, we can’t wait to see everyone back for more events coming to the centre soon!”
