My Decision, by Andrés Iniesta, the new Rakuten TV original documentary produced by Never Say Never, will arrive on November 1st exclusively on Rakuten TV, one of the leading Video-On-Demand platforms in Europe. After the success of Andrés Iniesta – The Unexpected Hero, Rakuten TV launches a new uncut documentary focusing on the complex path of post-injury recovery.

My Decision, by Andrés Iniesta, is the story of a penalty that takes Japanese team, Vissel Kobe, further than ever – but causes Iniesta one of the most painful injuries of his career, making the threat of retirement real for the first time.

The documentary delves into the footballer’s entire recovery process from up close, like never before: highlighting Iniesta’s fears and worries but also his pride in his achievements. We will meet a methodical, sensitive, vulnerable, entertaining family man admired by all of Japan.

“Almost no one knows what really happened when I got injured,” said Iniesta. “Very few know that I had to make a very important decision. Was it really worth it to keep playing football or was it finally time to retire? Was it really worth it to keep working in silence, not knowing if I would ever be fully recovered again? It was, perhaps, one of the most difficult decisions of my career”.

A story of overcoming challenges. A love letter to football. My Decision, by Andrés Iniesta, is the latest and most complete picture of a football legend reconstructed through the first-hand accounts of Iniesta himself and his family and the tribute of world-class footballers such as Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, and David Villa.

My Decision, by Andrés Iniesta, is the latest exclusive Original by Rakuten TV; it is produced by Never Say Never in collaboration with La Clé Content. The documentary was directed by Cibrán Isasi and scripted by Marcos López, Raül Llimós, and David A. García from an original idea by Never Say Never.

My Decision, by Andrés Iniesta, will be available for free on Rakuten TV in 42 European countries from November 1st.
