Harlow residents are invited to the Proclamation of the new King on Sunday 11 September 2022.
At 2pm on Sunday (11 September) from the balcony of Harlow Civic Centre, the Chair of Harlow Council, Councillor Andrew Johnson, will read the formal Proclamation for the town.
The Proclamation in Harlow will follow the Essex Proclamation which will be made on the same day.
Residents are invited to witness this occasion on Sunday and should gather outside the Civic Centre (CM20 1WG) from 1.30pm. This is one of the first occasions when communities can come together and reflect on the moment when the reign of our longest-serving Monarch came to an end and our new Sovereign succeeded.

Those driving by car should park in one of the Town Centre car parks.

At 11am on Saturday 10 September the Union Flag outside the Civic Centre will be raised to full mast and flown throughout the day. The flag will return to half-mast on Sunday and continue to be flown at half-mast until 8am on the day following the funeral.

The latest information on how residents can pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and express condolences to the Royal Family can be found on the council’s website www.harlow.gov.uk/her-royal-majesty-queen-elizabeth-ii-1926-2022
