The Community Charity Carnival Launches in Braintree

Following the unfortunate cancellation of the Braintree Carnival this year, Full Fibre Broadband providers – Swish Fibre and People’s Fibre have stepped in to launch the highly anticipated and free-to-attend Community Charity Carnival, an event which promises a huge serving of fun for the whole family to enjoy – and all for a very worthy cause. The CCC, as its organisers have affectionately coined it, has bagged an impressive line-up of vendors and activities which will be pay-to-play, with all profits to be shared by the Braintree Area Foodbank and Braintree Recreation CIO.

With a large number of Braintree residents already enjoying the benefits of a People’s Fibre broadband connection, the Swish Fibre brand, which is home to the UK’s Fastest broadband Network*, will also now start to become readily available within the Essex region, offering even more choice with their state-of-the-art and record-breaking 100% fibre-optic 10,000Mbps capable service.

Alistair Goulden, Co-founder at Swish Fibre Group said “As a company, we are fully engrained in our communities, not just by connecting people and businesses instantly through the very best broadband you can get, but by making sure we give back to the people that need it the most. With the school summer holidays upon us, raising awareness for the food poverty crisis is more important than ever. We’re also honoured to give what we can to help the Braintree Recreation CIO in the vital work they do. We’re delighted to be powering the CCC with two of our brands in Swish Fibre and People’s Fibre, plus the event sets up the perfect opportunity to bring the community together for some family fun, especially as the Braintree carnival was sadly cancelled this year”

Choices of entertainment on the day range from land, water and body zorbs by ASL Zorb Mania, to unique gaming experiences by Fragers LTD, to bouncy castles and bungee trampolines from Ellis Amusements, to a fully stacked double-decker gaming bus, funhouse, special Iron Man Slide experience, pony rides and so much more. With food and drinks vendors aplenty you’ll also be able to indulge in gourmet ice cream and sweet treats on demand. Furthermore, Regency Guarding & Events will be on hand to provide security for the event so you can be safe in the knowledge that you’ll be well looked after on-site.

A spokesperson from the Braintree Area Foodbank said “The pandemic has seen the number of people needing to use our service increase. Between April 2021 and March 2022, we fed 5,703 people of which 2,595 were children. We know that these numbers are only going to increase due to the circumstances that we are all facing. There will be a choice between eating and heating. There will be an increase in more low-income individuals and families needing our help and support. There will be children going hungry. This is why support from organisations like Swish Fibre and Peoples Fibre is needed to help us to raise awareness that we are here for the community in the Braintree district, but also to encourage these communities to learn about the work we do.”

All profits from the event will be shared equally between the Braintree Area Foodbank and the Braintree Recreation CIO – who without any public funding, continue to look after the Rec and Braintree fountain with great care alongside maintaining several historic properties in the local area.

The Community Charity Carnival from Swish Fibre with People’s Fibre will take place at the Braintree & Bocking Recreation Ground, John Ray Street, Braintree, CM79DZ, on Saturday 20th August from 11am-6pm. There is parking on-site at £3 per car.
