Westgate Healthcare Director, Tara Teubner, was recognised for her commitment to care, as she won the prestigious ‘Business’ award category at the Asian Woman of Achievement awards (AWA) ceremony.

The annual Asian Women of Achievement awards (in association with NatWest) was held at the Hilton in Park Lane on the 16th of June, showcasing the invaluable contribution of Asian women to British society.

Tara was nominated by the team at Coutts for her skills in the design of our care homes and the implementation of Westgate Healthcare’s unique Lifestyle Innovation programmes. Tara was one of six finalists for the ‘Business’ award category. Among her was a Business Consultant, Co-founder, Professor, CEO, and Senior Branch Manager.

Award-winning Director, Tara was later invited to 10 Downing Street with other AWA winners for a tour of the historical, famous house.
Asian Women of Achievement, said: “Passionate about enabling and empowering residents and staff in Westgate Healthcare care homes, Tara approaches any challenge with creativity and has designed, created and implemented four unique care innovations to facilitate this approach. Under her direction, all of the group’s homes have been awarded ratings of Good and Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.

Our judges said that Tara leads the way in the transformation of the care home sector, turning failures into successes for the business and, most importantly, for care home residents.”
Tara Teubner, Westgate Healthcare Director, said: “I was humbled to be honoured with the award for Business at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards in London.

Thank you to the AWA and particularly to its founder, Pinky Lilani CBE DL, for providing the platform to recognise the amazing achievements of the care sector in light of the challenges it has faced and continues to face, and to raise awareness of the amazing people that strive in the care sector every day to provide quality care to our elderly communities.”
