Which are some of the best wedding venues in Essex?

0

Essex is the county that plays host to the largest number of weddings in the UK, with almost 7,000 weddings table place each year (the COVID-years aside, of course).

Look at Marquee Vision, where you can rent a customised wedding marquee suited to any of the venues listed below.

The county is full of historic wedding venues and, with over 70% of Essex comprising lovely rolling countryside, there is ample space if you’re planning a tipi or marquee wedding instead of the classic manor or country house destination wedding venue.  It might be that you’re planning an outdoor wedding (keep your fingers crossed for good weather!), in which case don’t forget that in many cases, you’ll need outdoor wedding furniture hire.

Of course, there are hundreds of beautiful wedding venues in and around the county of Essex, and we can’t list them all.  Our suggestions below, however, represent some of our favourites, and will provide you with a diverse range from which you can choose or, at least, provide you with an idea of what is out there!  Time for you to arrange a few visits, maybe?

Gaynes Park, Epping

A stylish and contemporary country wedding bar, licensed for civil ceremonies, in the grounds of an historic estate in Epping. A great choice!

Crondon Park, Stock

This golf club and wedding venue is one of the premier wedding venues in Essex, with stunning views across the rolling countryside. This family owned business has been holding stunning weddings since 1994, and is definitely worth consideration.

Newland Hall, Chelmsford

An elegant, timbered 15th Century mansion, set in 100 acres, Newland Hall is a sought-after wedding venue for many. It is located just 4 miles west of Chelmsford city centre, so easily accessible.

Down Hall Hotel & Spa, Hatfield Heath

With a history dating back to 1322, Down Hall is one of the England’s premier country house wedding venues.  It is nestled in 110 acres of woodland, parkland and beautiful landscaped gardens, providing stunning wedding photography backdrops!

Hylands House, Chelmsford

This is a sought-after wedding venue, being a Grade II-listed building set in over 500 acres of countryside. A wonderful Essex wedding venue.

De Rougemont Manor, Brentwood

A gorgeous wedding venue which will be the envy of many if you decide to hold your special day here.  It is a hotel with accommodation and so there’s plenty of room for your guests to enjoy themselves on the day and stay overnight to enjoy the facilities, and the complete wedding experience.

Parklands, Quendon

This 17th Century mansion lies in a picturesque deer park and is a wonderful setting for your special day. There is also the chance to hold your wedding outdoors in their fully licensed ornate gazebo in the grounds.

The Warren Estate, Danbury

This charming and characterful wedding venue is a great destination for your Essex wedding.  With beautifully manicured lawns and stunning borders with climbing roses, there’s no doubt that your guests’ first impressions will be awesome!

Hedingham Castle, Sible Hedingham

Built around the year 1100, Hedingham Castle is one of the finest examples of a preserved Norman Keep anywhere in the UK.  The magnificent banqueting hall of the castle is perfect for your wedding, or alternatively, you can get married in the stunning landscaped gardens or in the local medieval Church of St Nicholas.  If you need outdoor event furniture hire, then there is plenty of choice when it comes to hire companies online in the area.

So, there are just a few of our favourites which might be of interest to you.  Of course, much depends upon the vision you have in mind for your special day – not all weddings are the same! And if it’s tips to organise outdoor wedding events you need, that’s probably for another time!

And, our final piece of advice, is that the most memorable weddings are usually those with the added personal touches, whether this is the wedding favours on the tables, little gifts for the bridesmaids, personalised invitations, table names that are places you have visited as a couple, and so on.  These go a long way in making guests feel part of your wedding, and show that you’ve gone to a great deal of thought and effort to include them.

So, all that’s left for you to do now is to get on the road and visit some Essex wedding venues, and start the wedding planning process in earnest – good luck!
