AN APPRENTICE candidate has claimed that some contestants on the show are there to gain TV exposure for their own businesses and have little interest in winning.

Amy Anzel said the show had turned into a Love Island type reality show rather than a factual entertainment show.

She told GB News: “I think people go on for various reasons. I’m a serious business person.

“I went there to look for the investment, to look for a future business partner. It didn’t work out for me, but I think others that they do go on for other reasons.”

Asked if she thought the show had become more of a reality show, Amy said: “I think some people do see it as that and that’s a sad reality but what can you do?

“That’s just the way the world is with reality. And I think even though The Apprentice is factual entertainment, I think a lot of people do see it as a reality show now.

Amy made her comments during an interview during Breakfast with Eamonn & Isabel on GB News this morning.

Addressing reports that she had been banned from the final, Amy said she did return for the final episode but was not asked to participate in the wrap-up show The Apprentice: You’re Hired.

She said: “I did partake in the final to support one of the finalists., so I did go back for that. But when it came to the final taping of the…You’re Hired show I was not asked back sadly.”

It is thought that the decision is linked to Amy’s criticism of comment made about her by Lord Sugar on Twitter.

Asked who she thought would win, Amy said: “I love that it was an all female history-making semi-final and now obviously two females are in the final so that’s super exciting.

“I know Harps [Harpreet Kaur] and Catherine [Burn] very well. They’re both very, very deserving.

“I was really keen on Catherine for the longest time because I felt like she really evolved her businesses great.

“I did support her in the final but now having watched the interviews, I actually think it’s going to be Harps because there were some holes in Catherine’s plan that I felt that Lord sugar was very worried about so I think it’s going to be Harps.”
