Sawbridgeworth Football Club has received a £3,500 sponsorship from local housebuilder David Wilson Homes, who is building its Sawbridge Park development on West Road in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire.

The housebuilder’s donation will go towards the first team’s home and away kits, as well as a pitch-side advertising board on the football club grounds. The club has a long history with the local community, being formed in 1897 by the members of Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club. Today it remains community-focussed, providing teams for all age groups from Under 7s up to Seniors.

Steve Day, Chairman at Sawbridgeworth FC, commented: “We are really excited to kick off the next couple of seasons with our David Wilson Homes partnership. There is a huge buzz around football carrying on from the Euros and our first team is looking forward to playing in their brand new kits! We’d like to thank David Wilson Homes for supporting local football.”

Karly Williams, Sales and Marketing Director at David Wilson North Thames, commented: “Sawbridgeworth FC is at the heart of the local community, and we are pleased to offer our support through this sponsorship thanks to our new homes at Sawbridge Park. We wish the first team the best of luck at their forthcoming matches!”

Sawbridgeworth FC is located approximately 0.7 miles from Sawbridge Park where a collection of three-bedroom homes are currently being built. Prices start from £505,000 for a three-bedroom townhouse overlooking green open space.
