It’s coming home: England win Euro 2020 final on pens

Finally, it appears the curse is broken – and England will win a penalty shootout at a major tournament!

Following on from the hurt of Euro ’96, in which the Three Lions lost to Germany in the semi-finals, as well as quarter-final exits to Portugal and Italy at Euro 2004, and 2012, respectively, fans are revelling in the news that football is coming home!

Bookmaker Casumo ran a supercomputer study, in which the Euro 2020 tournament was simulated. The outcome was conclusive – England will win the final against Spain, on penalties!

In three separate simulations, Gareth Southgate’s side were victorious over La Roja, who were seeking their fourth European Championship win. The scoreline was pretty conclusive too – with England winning 4-2 on all three occasions.

The winning goalscorer for the Three Lions was Harry Kane, clearly undeterred by the transfer speculation that currently surrounds him. The Tottenham Hotspur striker is good value for the Golden Boot award – at a price of 7/1 – for those seeking a top scorer Euro 2020 bet.

The supercomputer used a unique statistical model, looking at a number of variables, which include: fixtures, squads, form and more.
