Ashview Nursing Home in Ware has been awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating by the Care Quality Commission in the area of ‘Well-Led’. The Hertfordshire nursing home, part of award-winning care home group Westgate Healthcare, also received a rating of ‘Good’ in the areas of Safe, Effective, Caring and Responsive.

The news comes as a welcome achievement for Ashview’s Home Manager, Emilia, who joined the nursing home earlier this year. She said: “Our ‘Outstanding’ rating in the category of ‘Well-Led’ is testament to the hard work and commitment of our team who strive every day to enhance our home’s quality of person-centred care and service delivery. To achieve this in the face of such an exceptionally challenging year is something we, as a team, are extremely proud to have accomplished together.”

The new rating brings Westgate Healthcare’s portfolio of homes with an ‘Outstanding’ rating in one or more areas to five. The care group currently operates a total of 7 homes across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex and London and have a number of new luxury care homes currently in development.

The Care Quality Commission stated: “The provider was committed to finding innovative ways to further improve standards and care provision in the home. New protocols for recruitment and training helped to embed the desired culture in the home. Staff felt confident and empowered to provide people with the care they needed and desired.”
